Payerview Rankings Published by Athenahealth

Athenahealth has published its rankings of major payors based on calendar year 2006 claims. Nationally, Aetna and CIGNA ranked first and second in overall performance and also ranked high in such measures as days in accounts receivable and first pass resolve rate. Tricare ranked near the bottom on most indices. Among payors in the South, CIGNA Government Services (Medicare) received favorable rankings, as did CIGNA and Aetna in specific areas. Medicaid NC was in the bottom third on most payment-related rankings.
